Kvinnoforum in Sweden

Kvinnoforums head quarters are based in Stockholm, Sweden. Kvinnoforum is one of the largest Swedish NGOs expert on gender issues, specialised on the situation of marginalised women and girls. Kvinnoforum in Sweden works through projects, training and advocacy in a wide scope of areas, in collaboration with the civil society, the public sector and the private sector.

Kvinnoforum also arranges international conferences and seminars and publish books, reports and newsletters. Our main focus areas are Marginalised women and girls, Young women and girls, Gender Equality, Teenage mothers and fathers, Honour Related Violence, Trafficking in human beings, Methods and Theory development of E mpowerment, Women and Politics, Women in Business, Evaluations, Leadership with a gender perspective, Networking, Organisational Development, Reproductive Health and Rights, Resource Mobilisation and Small Business Development.

Kvinnoforum is divided into six departments:

International department

Kvinnoforum has since start worked internationally. Kvinnoforum operates both as a civil society organisation focusing on specific gender related issues as well as a consultant expert on the same areas of work.

The mututal exchange of theory development and practical work between international and Swedish experience is a corner stone in Kvinnoforums work.

Today Kvinnoforum operates through projects and assignments in different parts of the world.

Intercultural forum

Works on issues related to women, girls, men and boys living between cultures in Sweden and internationally.

Presently focus is on awareness raising of occurrence of human rights crimes as female genital mutilation and to support young girls facing honour related suppression or violence.




RRC - Regional Resource Centre for Female Entrepreneurs

RRC is a knowledge center that aims to enhance women’s possibilities in business through training and mentor programs, networking and business coaching.

Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre on Gender and Abuse

Kvinnoforum offers a centre for theory and practise advocating the gender perspective in issues of women and drug abuse. The centre reaches and collaborates with researchers, practitioners as well as women in abuse .

 

Xist

Xist is a girl's house that offers activities for girls between the ages 13-25 which runs different support groups for young parents and an open pre-school for children to teenage parents.

Xist provides resources and expertise on the situation of girls, particularly girls with special needs. Xist also runs a highly respected high school program for girls with special needs.

GMI offers strategies, concrete methods and leadership and gender training as well as operational gender management to companies, institutions and organisations in Sweden and internationally.
