Kvinnoforum Networking Against Trafficking in Women and Girls

Collaboration against trafficking

In June 2005, the Development Partnership (DP) – ”Collaboration against trafficking” commenced its work. This partnership constitutes a unique collaboration between governmental agencies, NGOs and CSOs, ecumenical networks, churches and congregations, museums and universities. This partnership will work for three years and is financed by the European Social Fund (ESF).

The work will be conducted within three main areas:

  1. Collaboration between authorities and NGOs. The project aims to improve the law enforcement of traffickers and sex buyers, provide a better support and rehabilitation to persons subjected to trafficking in Sweden as well as develop an effective strategy for return issues. This will be done through elaboration of collaboration plans in the counties of Stockholm, Västra Götaland and Skåne.
  2. Network for return. The project aims to develop a network of support for persons subjected to trafficking. Focus will be on the return process, e.g. safe houses, possibilities to work and study.
  3. Awareness raising and Advocacy. The project aims to form a platform for public debate, awareness raising and advocacy. This will be achieved by – among other activities – a mobile exhibition on the trafficking theme.
